Together with teachers from the Department of Agriculture and Bioresources and the RSU SFNR “Semey Ormany”, a meeting was held on the topic “Meeting with the participation of the scientific and technical council of the RSU SFNR "Semey Ormany” with the involvement of representatives of the public of the Abay region, local executive bodies, scientific and other organizations, to discuss and resolve problematic issues related to eliminating the consequences of large forest fires that occurred on May 22 and June 8, 2023 on the territory of the RGU “SFNR Semey Ormany”. The format of the meeting was an open discussion. The purpose of the meeting is to involve the public in the process of taking operational measures and decisions to minimize negative environmental consequences, organizing the necessary reforestation measures by clause 3 of Protocol No. 23-01-13.2 of 06/11/2023 (On eliminating a forest fire in the Abay region) of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan - Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, focused on achieving the most positive results for society and nature. The tasks were set as:

1) Strengthening trust and ensuring transparency in the work on carrying out sanitary and health activities of the RGU “GLPR “Semey Ormany”, through open dialogues between the scientific community, government agencies and civil society;

2) Formation of an algorithm for effective measures to eliminate the consequences of large forest fires and restore lost landscapes.

3) Economic efficiency and possible risks in the development of burnt forests and in the restoration of ecological systems of pine belt forests.
